View Beautiful Alexandrite Pendant white gold with diamonds GIA ID and origin report with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. The purplish color of the alexandrite is hard to photograph. These colors are typical of material from Brazil. Alexandrites are a clarity type 2 gemstone, which typically have inclusions visible to the unaided eye. The alexandrite is oval cut, measuring 7.22 x 5.24 x 4.67 mm, with a measured weight of 1.76 ct.  The alexandrite has a good color change and changes from bluish green (daylight, florescent, or LED) to grayish slightly purplish red (incandescent or candlelight).  The green color of the alexandrite is emerald green.  The purplish color of the alexandrite is hard to photograph.  These colors are typical of material from Brazil.   Alexandrites are a clarity type 2 gemstone, which typically have inclusions visible to the unaided eye. This alexandrite is eye clean. I had the alexandrite gemstone appraised in June 2007 soon after I bought the pendant.  The appraisal from 2007 is not an accurate reflection of the current value of this pendant because the appraisal is for the gemstone only.  In addition the value of high quality alexandrite has risen considerably since 2007.  I am showing the old appraisal primarily because it describes the characteristics of the alexandrite gemstone, including measured weight, color (hue, tone, and saturation), clarity, and finish. The alexandrite is natural and has not been heated or otherwise enhanced.   A recent GIA ID and origin report for the alexandrite is included.  GIA recently (Spring/Summer of 2019) started offering an expert opinion on the origin of alexandrite gemstones.   The GIA expert opinion of the origin of this alexandrite is India.  The recent GIA report states that the alexandrite changes from bluish green (in flourescent or shaded daylight) to purplish gray (in incandescent or candlelight).   The pendant setting is 14k white gold with approximately 1.0 cttw of diamonds.   This pendant is in excellent condition.   This is a very beautiful alexandrite pendant.  It can be difficult to accurately show gemstone color in a photograph.  This item will be delivered by USPS registered and insured mail.
