Therefore the buyer is responsible to file a claim for reimbursement for insured mail that arrived damaged. The buyer may also be required to submit the item to USPS as part of the insurance claim. The seller will submit the mailing receipt to the buyer so the buyer can complete the claim process with USPS. The claim must be filed within a certain time period and include proof of insurance, value and damage. If the item was lost during the shipping process, the seller will file the insurance claim.
