Description Vintage 30-Strand Liquid Silver Sterling Bib Necklace – Southwestern Style This striking vintage necklace is made from 30 individual strands of liquid silver, tiny hand-cut sterling silver tube beads strung so closely together that they flow and shimmer like liquid. The strands gather at each side into smooth sterling cones finished with a band of stamped decorative detail around the rim, then cascade across the chest in graduated layers, from about 16" to 22", to form a dramatic bib that drapes about 4¼" at the center front. It moves beautifully when worn and catches the light from every angle. Acquired in Arizona from a Native American seller; the individual maker is unknown. Very fine sterling silver tubing is cut by hand into beads just a few millimeters long, then strung by the thousands on fine wire. Because each bead is so small, the finished strand is remarkably fluid and supple, creating the flowing, liquid effect the style is named for.
