I have had this ring about 15 years didn't wear it I had gotten it in a collection and actually the band was over the other side and I pulled it apart to see if it had been cut and I really don't know. Not my area of expertise. However being sterling silver you can always bring it to a jewelry to solder the band together smooth it out and make it as brand new again. It is not like custom jewelry were an alteration would be more complicated. So just be aware before bidding it should not affect the value by any chance people size rings all the time!!! You are not changing anything else on the ring. They have all the pictures that should show everything you need to see.
