Push pin ornaments, also known as sequin & beaded ornaments, were commonly made in the 1960's & 1970's.  These handmade ornaments were crafted using stick pins, jewels, sequins, beads, & sometimes ribbon.  While the "push pin" itself was patented in 1900, the craft of using them to create decorations for Christmas trees became popular decades later. Edwin Moore patented the push-pin in the U.S. in 1900, The peak period for creating & using push pin ornaments often found as handmade items was 1960-1970's.
