Not marked sterling but I have tested with acid and tests strong for 925. This stunner is an exceptional one of a kind sterling silver dangle pin from the early Biedermeier Victorian era, specifically dating back to 1848. The piece is signed by the maker H&T and features beautiful swallow birds in flight holding olive stems in their mouths. Handmade in the United States, this original antique piece displays the best that antique jewelry can offer. The fine craftsmanship and elegance, make it a unique and valuable addition to any jewelry collection. The bar between the two birds can be cleaned to shine but I have left almost 200 yrs of patina. Nothing like it on eBay! Measures a respectable 4 1/4” east/west x 2 5/8” north/south. The free swinging chain joining them moves freely as does the two pendants. The teeny tiny pearl clusters I believe are faux but I could be wrong. They do have some grit but I am unsure. It’s so slight. The striations in the birds to depict feathers is fine hand work and so lovely. All over I would say this very special pin is a 9.5 out of 10 having had no repairs or replacements.
