Conceived as a deluxe scholarly reproduction portfolio, the series was supervised by leading ukiyo-e authorities Kiyoshi Shibui and Sadao Kikuchi, ensuring academic integrity rather than commercial souvenir production. Each work was reproduced using advanced multi-color offset techniques of the period (approximately 15 colors), with additional processes applied to evoke the tactile quality of Edo-period  washi  paper and the subtle patina associated with historical originals.
