Beautiful and authentic  French Napoleon III casket , dating from the  second half of the 19th century (circa 1865–1885) . This elegant box features an elaborate  Boulle-style brass inlay  on a red and black tortoiseshell-effect ground, with a finely engraved central cartouche bearing the original  "AB" monogram . The interior retains its original  blue moiré silk lining , showing expected wear consistent with its age. The exterior displays an attractive untouched antique patina. Dimensions Length:  27 cm (10.6 in) Width:  19 cm (7.5 in) Height:  11 cm (4.3 in) Condition Good antique condition. Age-related wear and surface craquelure consistent with a 19th-century piece. Materials Brass inlay on a tortoiseshell-effect ground. The ground may possibly be genuine antique tortoiseshell, although this has not been professionally tested or certified.
