An ORIGINAL 1 5/8" WIDTH FROG MECHANISM for a Stanley No. 2 seven-inch length smoothing plane by STANLEY. This uncommon First Lateral type plane component has the slot type adjustment feature used on the earliest of the Stanley bench planes that had a lateral adjustment feature. This Type 5 plane version was replaced with the disc type adjuster beginning with planes of Type 6 vintage. It is in ready to use condition.
