SIGNED LARGE STUDIO ART POTTERY VASE – DEEP COBALT BLUE HAND-THROWN CERAMIC A striking and substantial piece of signed studio art pottery , measuring approximately 16 1/4 inches tall and 7 inches at its widest point . This is a beautifully proportioned, large-format hand-thrown vase with a rich, saturated cobalt/indigo blue glaze . The tall organic form has a wonderfully substantial presence, with a rounded body that gradually narrows toward the base and a softly flared, irregularly formed rim. The surface retains the subtle evidence of the potter’s hand, including the gentle throwing rings and natural variations in the glaze. These characteristics are part of the handmade studio-pottery process rather than defects , and they give the vase its individual character and visual depth. The deep blue glaze is especially beautiful in person, changing subtly with the light from an almost midnight blue to brighter cobalt tones. The underside is hand-signed with an artist’s mark/monogram , which is shown clearly in the photographs. I have not been able to conclusively identify the artist from the mark, so I am deliberately not attributing it to a particular maker without verification. It is a unique 1/1 expensive work of pottery art.  DIMENSIONS • Height: approximately 16 1/4 inches • Maximum width: approximately 7  inches CONDITION Excellent condition . There are no chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs noted. There are a few very minor marks on the vase (see photos) that do not take away from its’ presence or beauty. The glaze and surface variations visible in the photographs are characteristic of the handmade pottery and contribute to the character of the piece. This is not a lightweight mass-produced decorative vase. It is a large, substantial studio-ceramic vessel with a strong sculptural presence and a beautiful hand-applied glaze. It would make an impressive addition to a collection of studio pottery, art pottery, signed ceramics, sculptural vessels, or contemporary/modern ceramic art . Please review all photographs carefully.
