UP FOR SALE:   Exceptional vintage Navajo sterling silver cuff watch handcrafted by Victor Moses Begay, Diné (Navajo Nation), signed with his hallmark VMB. The heavy sterling cuff features hand-cut multi-stone inlay, including turquoise and additional light-toned stone elements, set in geometric channels typical of mid-20th-century Navajo silversmithing. The watch is a vintage Hamilton Watch Company Lady Hamilton cocktail watch dating to the mid-20th century (circa 1940s–1950s). Lady Hamilton watches of this period were produced as luxury dress watches and are known for their refined cases and quality movements. This example is set with eight genuine diamonds, confirmed using a Presidium tester. The sterling silver cuff has been tested and confirmed as .925 silver. The watch is originally and permanently integrated into the cuff as part of the artist’s design. It has not been removed and is offered intact to preserve the original Navajo silversmithing and historical construction. Removing the watch would be invasive and would compromise the integrity of the piece. Victor Moses Begay was an accomplished Diné silversmith active from the 1950s through the 1980s.
