Gorgeous vintage black nightgown dating approximately to the 1970s–1980s, originally part of a coordinating two-piece lingerie/peignoir set. This dramatic piece features a slinky, lustrous black fabric with delicate spaghetti straps and beautiful gathered draping radiating from the center of the bodice. The focal point is an unusual elongated diamond-shaped embellishment worked in shimmering silver metallic thread. The front has extensive draping and an overlapping tulip-style effect through the skirt, giving the nightgown an incredibly glamorous silhouette that could easily be worn today as a slip dress or evening piece. Originally, this nightgown was accompanied by a spectacular matching outer piece with dramatic batwing sleeves.
