In this series, there are cauldrons, cats, witches, hats, owls, and in this card pumpkins. It was I think ,fun. It’s a little hard to read. It’s possible that this artist is Jagger. Lots of detail and in general, lots of imagery. Nash H 17 series has a poem multiple imagery illustrating the poem and across the bottom a particular motive that spells Halloween. In this series, there are cauldrons, cats, witches, hats, owls, and in this card pumpkins. The poem encourages you to make your own good luck, writing the name of your true love with a burnt cork rather than having your tarot cards read. Halloween in the early 1900s was very much a courtship time as well as a time where you would divine your fate using various superstitions to see your luck or who you would marry. It was I think ,fun. This card is in very good condition, bordering on excellent with a light crease in the upper right hand corner bumped corners some light soiling and yellowing of the card commiserate with it being from 1908. At least I think that’s what the postmark says. It’s a little hard to read. It’s possible that this artist is Jagger. Certainly, I see a style of this artist repeated in other Nash cards, including some that I have up. Lots of detail and in general, lots of imagery. Usually metallic accents as in this one which is accented in gold. I am a postcard collector and every year sell off my duplicates from upgrading my collection or from buying lots of cards that may have duplicates in the lot. I do combine shipping and I am listing more Halloween 3-D and postcards through mid September. So please look. Condition: Used.
