Striking vintage rhinestone brooch featuring a dramatic dimensional cluster of amber, topaz, smoky brown and aurora borealis glass rhinestones in an assortment of cuts and shapes. The centerpiece is a large emerald-cut smoky topaz/brown faceted stone, surrounded by round chatons, pear/teardrop stones, pointed navette-style stones and sparkling AB accent rhinestones. The varied shapes, layered construction and open-set arrangement give the brooch wonderful depth and a classic mid-century “jewel cluster” appearance. Rollover needs to be replaced. The stones are individually prong-set in a gold-tone metal setting. The reverse shows a substantial cast/textured gold-tone framework with a traditional pin stem and rollover-style clasp.
