Vintage White Hankie Tan Applique with Brown Embroidery - Madeira Style Embroidered S Monogram  Elegant vintage handkerchief, meticulously hand (?) embroidered with the monogram " S" in tan and brown. Raised monogram is surrounded with detailed embroidered & appliquéd flowers, leaves, ribbon & vines.  It looks like Madeira, and has the hand made features of true Madeira but since i don't know for sure so I am calling it Madeira - style. Monogram corner is finished with additional embroidery. Remaining edges are hand rolled.  Handkerchief measures 15.5" square.   I have added 2 pictures of the metal tag that was NOT on this one but was on the listed Blue E hankie, otherwise identical. Please see my photos. Nothing is "wrong" with this hanky.  I did not wash it to try to remove fold marks.  No holes or spots. Fabric is hanky weight linen or hanky weight cotton.
