This assembly has a tapered base that is secured to the moveable arm of the mitre box by a large slotted screw that is included with the saw guide assembly. The rear saw guide has a different release mechanism from the front saw guide as it is triggered by lifting the saw rather than released by the trip clamp, as is the case with the front saw guide.
