Beautiful vintage ornate gold gilt picture frame with an elaborate layered design and a fitted opening for an approximately 11" x 14" image. This frame has a wonderfully decorative old-world appearance, combining repeating raised scrollwork, floral and foliate details, multiple narrow gilt borders, and a contrasting cream-colored linen-textured liner. A slender gold inner molding finishes the opening and gives artwork a clean transition into the more elaborate outer frame. The overall design has a strong Baroque Revival / Rococo / Victorian Revival influence and also works beautifully with Hollywood Regency, Parisian apartment, maximalist, traditional and salon-wall decor. The warm aged gold and brown tones keep it from looking overly bright or new. The frame measures approximately 15" wide x 18" high overall and fits an approximately 11" x 14" image. It retains hanging wire on the reverse and can be displayed vertically as currently wired or adapted for horizontal artwork. There is attractive age and use throughout, including rubbing, scratches, darkened areas, small finish losses, crazing and irregularities in the gold-toned decorative surface.
