Vintage SALVADOR TERAN MARBEL Aztec Face Pendant W/ Signature M26 Mexico 1960s This is a striking mid-century modernist pendant designed by the highly collectible Mexican silversmith Salvador Terán for Marbel S.A..Design: The piece showcases a beautifully stylized pre-Columbian Aztec or Mayan face mask carved from a deep blue ceramic cabochon, created to simulate the appearance of natural lapis lazuli. The central face is framed by a highly detailed, openwork gold-plated brutalist headdress.Accents: The bottom of the setting is adorned with three articulated, swinging teardrop dangles that add dynamic movement when worn.Markings: The reverse side of the pendant features the authentic stamped hallmark: "Marbel S.A.
