This beautiful large Kutani Tea - Coffee Pot is white with iron red and gold on the handle, lid and spout. Shades of pink, red, black, and gold are used to create the scenes. Late 19th C to early 20th C. This beautiful large Kutani Tea - Coffee Pot is white with iron red and gold on the handle, lid and spout. The scenes depict flowers, birds; two women washing at the river; man alone; and two men with children. Shades of pink, red, black, and gold are used to create the scenes.  Measures: 7 3/4"T x 5" Diameter (at widest area of pot but does not include handle and spout) 7 1/4" Diameter (widest area from handle to tip of spout) Marked: Red freehand inside lid Maker appears to be Kutani in the late Meiji Period. Late 19th C to early 20th C. Wooden Stand was made in China with 5 legs. It measures 3 1/2"T x 5 1/2" Diameter Condition: There is some color rub off from use on the mouth rim. Also some color fade on top rim of the raised foot and paint wear on bottom rim of pot. There is a hairline crack on the lid. Please see photos for further description. The wooden stand has 5 legs , 2 had been repaired earlier in the joints with glue and could probably be improved again with another glue application..
