The knob has a few small cracks and one spot is ready to chip off I think. Greetings woodworkers and Stanley tool collectors ! For your consideration is a Stanley No 4 smooth bottom wood plane with a SW ❤️ blade. A little reading shows this is a type 13 ( 1925-1928 ) making it at least 97 years old. I disassembled this tool and gave it a thorough cleaning including all of the hardware. It came out great and exposed a few small flaws. The knob has a few small cracks and one spot is ready to chip off I think. I’m not good with glue and small cracks so I didn’t try to fix it. The top end of the tote isn’t perfect . It has a small dent ? right on the tip. The front of edge of the lever cap has a series of chips running along the front edge. Overall this tool is very presentable and fully functional and would make great addition to someone’s collection ! Please look closely at the attached images !
