For your considerationis this Ancient Pre-Columbian Maya / Gulf Coast Mold-Made Terracotta Figurine Whistle Dimensions: Approx. 3" – 3.5" Height Material: Terracotta / Earthenware Period: Late Classic Period (c. 600–900 CE) Origin: Maya Lowlands / Gulf Coast Region (Jaina / Central Veracruz Style) Item Overview: An authentic Pre-Columbian mold-made ceramic whistle depicting a standing elite female figure or deity. Crafted during the Late Classic period, this piece highlights the exquisite ceramic artistry and acoustic traditions of ancient Mesoamerica. The front of the figure features a low-relief, detailed mold-pressed design wearing traditional elite regalia: a broad, fan-shaped headdress, prominent circular ear spools, a heavy beaded necklace, and a traditional wrapped skirt. The arms are resting against the torso, displaying typical Classic Maya maternal stylization. The reverse features a flat, hand-finished back with a single resonant sound hole designed as an acoustic vessel flute (Helmholtz resonator).
