Handmade midcentury vintage needlepoint embroidery Christmas stocking featuring a cat or kitten and a puppy or dog peeking over the top of a stocking adorned with candy canes, Christmas trees, holly, and bells. The needlepoint is finely done on a mesh canvas backing, probably originally from a kit. The cats whiskers are embroidered atop the needlepoint. Stocking is sewn to a red felt backing and is unlined. You can see the neatly stitched backside of the front of the stocking inside. Stocking measures approximately 8" wide at the top and 16" in length. In Very Good vintage condition. No loose stitching, fraying, or obvious repairs. There are two darker red lines in one section of red on the stocking - may be a stain or may come out in the wash. I did not attempt to clean it due to the age of the stocking. There is a tiny hole in the felt backing. See detail photos. No fading, or bad odor. No tags or maker's marks.
