I left them both in there. Pattern is very bulky as it is a " how to sew" pattern and has some instructional materials included. Thus I will be sending it in a plastic bag with the pattern pieces outside the envelope. Envelope included of course. I'm not sure, they may have changed from almost 60 years ago?
