EXQUISITE PAIR  MANDARIN  SCALLOPED  DISHES  CHINESE EXPORT  FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN  9 In.  c1840 This is an exceptional PAIR of  CHINESE EXPORT  FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN  MANDARIN   SCALLOPED SERVING DISHES, 9 in. Wide, circa 1840. Each one of the PAIR of MANDARIN SCALLOPED SERVING DISHES: - is decorated is glazed and decorated with beautiful colorful unctuously applied enamels over a glazed white background; - has modeling, decorating, and glaze that are exceptionally well done with typical colors of antique Chinese Mandarin Porcelain: creamy white background decorated with varying shades of rose pink and red, green, blue, gold, green, orange, black, yellow, brown and gold; - has wide surrounding border decorated in the BIRDS IN LANTERN PATTERN, which includes birds, butterflies, flowers, and plants; - has main reserve panel in the center decorated with seven elegantly attired MANDARIN STYLE FIGURES with gold in their hair; the figures are in various pursuits amidst a garden terrace scene; - has border edge formed in deep scalloped relief and has a gilded rim edge; - has underside bottom is glazed in a creamy white glaze; and the raised rim foot is unglazed.
