The ornate medieval-inspired motifs reflect the Gothic Revival movement popular in Europe during the Victorian period. These were likely designed as altar or chapel candlesticks , where tall prickets held large church candles. The candleholders are in good condition. Some green patina, can be removed for a uniformed look.
