Natural aged patina to brass pieces, aged dust. Old cloth covered cut wiring.  This light is so pretty and different I did not have the heart to recycle it despite that crack in the glass. When I ship this I will put a piece of clear packaging tape over the glass to help prevent and more damage during shipment.  See photos for measurements.
