We hand sign all of our carving All of our carvings are made from natural cedar logs, they can possibly get a few small cracks or checks over time as the piece ages, and the log naturally ages. You can keep these carvings outside, but if you do i would keep up with them and re finish when needed. These carving do best on a covered porch out of the elements or inside.
