Classic tall engineer / motorcycle boot design. Outstanding pair of vintage 1950s Sears tall engineer/motorcycle boots in black leather. These have the classic mid-century engineer-boot construction with very tall shafts, heavy leather, ankle/harness straps with metal buckles, substantial heels, and a great period silhouette. The leather is thick and substantial and remains in incredibly good, wearable condition considering these boots are 70 years old. They have exactly the kind of genuine age and character that is difficult to reproduce on modern boots. The soles and heels are especially impressive and appear to have seen very little actual wear. Heel edges remain strong and well defined, and the soles show considerably less wear than would normally be expected from boots of this age. The leather remains thick, attractive and flexible. Not stiff at all. As shown in the photographs, there is normal age-related condition. This is consistent with genuinely old leather and gives the boots some vintage character. This does not distract from there incredible appearance or wearability and the boots present extremely well for seven decades old. These are genuine vintage boots and should be treated accordingly. Approximate outsole measurements: Length: A little over 12 inches heel to toe Width at widest point: 4.5 inches. The Inside measures about 11.75 inches, or maybe just a little more. The inside size stamp has worn off so these are the measurements. I wear a size 12 and they fit me.
