Rare Vintage 1971 Napier Eugene Bertolli “Sea Fern” / Sculpted Coral Three-Piece Parure A spectacular and highly collectible signed vintage Napier jewelry set featuring the dramatic sculptural Sea Fern / coral motif designed by Eugene Bertolli for Napier and introduced in 1971. This three-piece grouping includes the statement pendant necklace, articulated wide bracelet, and matching clip-on earrings. All three pieces are signed NAPIER. The design is wonderfully dimensional, combining rugged organic coral- or sea-fern-like branches with contrasting smooth polished gold-tone pebble accents. The deeply textured surfaces catch the light beautifully, while the openwork construction gives the pieces an almost sculptural quality. The necklace design is a documented Napier book piece, appearing in The Napier Co.: Defining 20th Century American Costume Jewelry. Measurements: Necklace approximately 17½” open, with large center pendant approximately 2½” high × 2½” wide. Bracelet measures approximately 8” open and consists of six articulated sculptural panels with fold-over clasp. Clip-on earrings measure just under 1” high when worn on the diagonal × approximately 2 cm wide. The bracelet is especially impressive when worn, with the articulated coral panels wrapping dramatically around the wrist. The earrings echo the same organic sculptural motif and complete the look without competing with the substantial necklace. Gold-tone/gold-plated metal construction. The documented Sea Fern necklace design was produced in gold plate. Metal content has not been independently tested. Condition: Excellent vintage condition for a set dating to approximately 1971.
