Hummel Nativity HUM 214 set; unusual as it has all 15 porcelain figures first issued in 1952.  This exceptional collection is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, repairs or crazing found. Designed by master sculptor Reinhold Unger in 1951 and first produced by Goebel in 1952, the HUM 214 Nativity has been part of the Hummel Christmas tradition for generations. This collection brings together Mary, the Infant Jesus, Joseph, the Three Kings, shepherds, animals and the additional HUM 214 figures that are so often missing from assembled sets.   The complete 15-piece grouping, first released in 1952, includes: HUM 214/A — Virgin Mary HUM 214/A — Infant Jesus HUM 214/B — Joseph HUM 214/C — Good Night, standing angel HUM 214/D — Angel Serenade, kneeling angel HUM 214/E — We Congratulate HUM 214/F — Shepherd standing with sheep HUM 214/G — Kneeling shepherd HUM 214/H — Little Tooter, kneeling shepherd boy with flute HUM 214/J — Donkey HUM 214/K — Ox HUM 214/L — Moorish King HUM 214/M — King kneeling on one knee HUM 214/N — King kneeling with cash box HUM 214/O — Lamb facing straight ahead (a later version was redesigned with the lamb's head turned towards its body)  Of particular note, this collection includes Good Night, Angel Serenade, We Congratulate and Little Tooter —all documented HUM 214 figures designed in 1951 by Mr. Unger, frequently absent from sets available today.   Additional note on "We Congratulate": this set includes the HUM 214 no-base version, in which the children do not stand on a porcelain base.  This is the large HUM 214 Nativity , not the later smaller-scale /0 series.  The 15 pieces span these production periods:   TMK4 3-line trademark (1964-72) = Good Night   and Angel Serenade ;  TMK6 (1979-90)  = 12 pieces ; and, TMK7 (1991-00) = the Moorish King.   Every piece has been individually examined and photographed, including the underside markings, mold numbers, trademarks and painter markings. No chips, cracks, repairs or crazing were found. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description and show the condition and markings of the exact 15 pieces being offered.
