ANTIQUE TULIP QUILT MADE IN VIRGINIA IN 1928 FOR THE WEDDING GIFT OF MY GREAT AUNT ULA VIRGINIA PERDUE (CARTER), MARRIED (on March 20, 1928) AT THE AGE OF 19 TO JAMES CARL CARTER, AGE 20.  Great Aunt Ula was born on May 31, 1909, and died April 30, 2013, at the age of 103, just shy by about a month before her 104th birthday. Great Aunt Ula loved Pepsi Cola, New York Yankees, and flower arranging. Her parents were Walter and Maude Perdue. The reason I mention the provenance is because our family are descended from soldiers in the Revolutionary War and the Civil War, in case you are interested in genealogy.  GREAT AUNT ULA CARTER WAS DECENDED FROM A HISTORIC FAMILY VIRGINIA, SUCH AS MARTHA DANDRIDGE EGGLETON SHUMATE, WHO DIED AT AGE 101, WITH HER MALE FAMILY MEMBRES SERVING IN THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR AND THE CIVIL WAR.  TWO OF HER BROTERS DIED IN THE BATTLE OF SEVEN PINES. MARTHA HELPED TO SEW THIS QUILT SEVEN YEARS BEFORE HER OWN DEATH.  My Great Aunt Ula told me this Tulip quilt was hand sewn by her Mother, Grandmother, and other women in our family'. Great Aunt Ula also told me that the dyes were handmade by our family from berries and vegetables.  The hand stitching on this quilt is the finest workmanship I have ever seen. Please use the zoom feature on EBAY to take closer looks at the stitching, edging, and other aspects of the workmanship in this stunning quilt The TULIPS appear as light purple and yellow, with green stems and leaves. This quilt is approximately 75" wide X 95" inches long. There is a required drop-down box that is part of this EBAY listing that I had to choose the nearest measurements, because it did not have the numbers I needed to use. .I do not see any damages on this quilt, so I ask you to please look at all photos carefully.  Seller is an EBAY member since 2003 with 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK.
