Great 8x10-inch black-and-white glossy publicity photo / movie still was produced to promote the 1944 Universal horror film, HOUSE OF FRANKENSTEIN, which starred Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney, John Carradine, J. Carrol Naish, Lionel Atwill, Elena Verdugo, Anne Gwynn, Glenn Strange, George Zucco, Sig Ruman, William Edmunds, Charles F. Miller and Philip Van Zandt. The all-star monster extravaganza was directed by Erle C. Kenton. This was the sixth film in the original Universal Frankenstein series and also featured appearances by Dracula and the Wolfman. We are not sure of the exact age of this still. Although the photo quality is excellent, and it is printed on the old style, fiber-based paper, we do not believe that this is an original studio-issued still. One the other hand, it certainly isn't brand new either. Therefore, we are selling this assuming that it is probably an early re-strike -- likely made from an original negative. The photo features a great shot of Boris Karloff and hunchback J. Carrol Naish getting ready to operate on pretty Elena Verdugo. Overall condition: EXCELLENT+.....
