Made in the United States, the variously colored wood blocks are perfect for various woodworking projects, particularly those involving turning and carving. The heartwood is light brown and aromatic, in contrast to the white sapwood, and is commonly used for cedar chests. The product can have knot's crack's and sometime small parts with bark with other small defects. If the tree has alot of sap it can prematurely dull the mill saw blade and cause wavy cuts on the side of some blocks(does not happen to often, but can happen). We do add a packet of fine red cedar saw dust for use as wood filler or wood repair should the customer need it. This is a Eastern Red Cedar wood carving block, measuring 5.5" x 5.5" x 37".
