This high-relief Whitby Jet Cameo has an unusual 8-sided, irregular octagonal shape, scalloped/serrated edging, elaborate swirled carving, and an elegant classical female cameo adorned with flowers in her hair. It measures over 2" long and 1.5" wide and is a wonderful piece of wearable Victorian history. It looks gorgeous on a velvet or satin ribbon. In great antique condition with some nibbles and wear, as can be expected from a piece over 125 years old. There is a flea bite on the outer edge, horizontally across from the lovely lady's eyes.
