KISS poster "Lick It Up" tour Europe November 9, 1983 Graz, Austria @ Eisstadion Liebenau In Germany & Austria, the traditional KISS lightning bolt SS are illegal. In case you are not up on history...    From 1929 until its dissolution in 1945, the SS was headed by  Heinrich Himmler , who built it up from fewer than 300 members to more than 250,000 by 1939.  With their sleek black uniforms and special insignia (lightning-like runic S’s, death’s head badges, and silver daggers), the men of the SS were made to feel superior. They  were schooled  to harden their hearts to human suffering. Their chief “virtue” was their absolute obedience and loyalty to the  Führer , who gave them their motto: “My honor is loyalty [ Meine Ehre heißt Treue ].” During World War II the SS carried out massive executions of political opponents,  Roma  (Gypsies), Jews, Polish leaders, Communist authorities, partisan resisters, and Soviet prisoners of war.  So instead of the lightning bolt SSs, Z s or actual curved S s were used. This forced change in promotional items for the 5 shows in Germany and the 3 shows in Austria, makes this poster extremely  RARE! !!! The one I am listing is most likely, the only surviving poster from that show in Austria way back in 1983. MEASUREMENTS: 32" x 23.25"  /  poster will be mailed in a mailing tube. I worked for Showco (Dallas) & Showlites (London) - the two largest Rock-N-Roll production companies in the world providing sound, lights & crew.
