Research shows this is Bohemian made in 1900-1910 and an Art Nouveau design. Edwardian with a nod to Victorian jewelry of the 1880s still having that lovely scalloped edge and feminine qualities Victoria's reign added to fashion and design. This is an oldie but a goodie. Edwardian design leaned more heavily into Art Nouveau with bolder bigger florals and gilt. the glass is not foil backed which tells us it is certainly made for export in what was then Czechoslovakia and dates it to the early 20th century as Art Nouveau was just starting to lean into Art Deco.  This has the center stone to support the grandeur, for certain. This is definitely antique and so very well made to have stood the test of time so beautifully. It is a bronze set brooch which has a very nice patina which has darkened it some what but the design in the metal work shows through better for it. It is a diamond shaped frame with swirls and raised dots alternating between the small round stone that adorn edge surrounding the center stone. The edge of the metal is scalloped adding interest and design and femininity to the brooch as well. The center stone of glass is the main event. It is large faceted and emerald green. Beautifully cut in an elongated hexagon shape with a diamond shape table on the facing top. This catches light and sparkles beautifully. The smaller round stones surrounding it are all round cut with facets as well. These are multi-color and include 4 red stones, 2 green stones and 2 light blue stones. The metal was pressed and the smaller stones though prong set have the prongs held in with grommets on the back. The date give away that confirms the age on all the other parts is the pin back. The very long pin extends the length of the brooch horizontally and if secured with a C clasp. NOTE: The clasp is original to the brooch but the pin itself is a repair that was clearly done professionally as it is set and welded (cleanly) into the bronze set for the original pin. The original pin was most likely also bronze but was lost to time. The new pin is probably added in the 1950's based on the hinge style.  All stones are secure and in very nice condition. The large stone has a very small scratch on the tip of one of the facets that is visible only using a loop, but doesn't affect the beauty of the stone or it's integrity.  The brooch measures 2 inches long and about 1 in at the center with the center stone measuring 1 in by about 3/5 in.   Happy Shopping!  Condition: Pre-owned - Good.
