View Vintage Atlantic Mold Angels Figurines Harp Ceramic Brunette Blonde Christmas with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. One is a brunette with dark brown hair swept up in a flip style that screams 1960's and with blue eyes which vexed my daughter as she thought the eye colors on these two should have been flipped, but artists get to do what they want and she/he wanted the girl with the brown hair to get the blue eyes. While not perfect, they are far too adorable and kitschy to cast them off. Plus their condition, while imperfect is honestly very good for vintage ceramic that has been used and stored. Ceramic glazes can chip off easily and crack under good conditions, in houses where people clean and move things, have pets or kids or old people there survival is precarious. LOL.  So finding these two beauties with a little indications of a long and beloved life, seemed good. Someone loved them and did take care of them, as you can see. So here are the little things we noted on inspection.  1.  The blonde angel has an indication of paint repair on her hair. This may be due to paint or glaze loss as I can't see a repair, but I do see a little impression where a piece of glaze may have come off there. It has been painted with a color that isn't a perfect match but close and it is not glazed. However, as a girl with many years of ceramics under her belt, there is a spray you can get at a hobby shop for ceramics that adds a gloss or matte finish. Should you attempt to do this, use painter's tape and some brown paper to cover her and limit overspray. But that may help it look more like original finish. Mod Podge also makes a very high gloss that you could paint over that area to help it blend better. All that for a very small spot by the way, so just leaving it be is fine too, it is not really noticeable when displayed at all. In fact, we did not see it at all until it was in a lightbox and pictures were being taken and we noted the color difference under the very bright lights.  2. Brunette angel has a chip on her toe - now you will note that to tip of her toe is white in the picture - well that isn't a chip - that is a spot that the original artist did not get black paint on it and it was glazed and that little spot shows the white bisque ceramic under the glaze. It is very tiny. However, under her toe where no one will see without flipping her there is a chip. Can I just say though. I checked those cute little baby arabesque toes sticking out because we all know that if there was going to be a chip or something broken off it would be the tips of that toe - the tips of her wings or the tips of that harp - cause tips do not bode well for vintage ceramics or any breakable for that matter. LOL. So I saw the white spot on the tip of the toe but it is smooth and not chipped at all. The chip is on the underside and completely unnoticed when displayed - but duly noted.  3. Lastly, the brunette has a wing repair. It appears that the edge of one wing near the top curve broke off and was glued and repaired by original owner. It is not a perfect repair as there is some crack visible and a tiny piece of ceramic is missing along one part of the crack as it looks to have broken into more than one piece, but due to the painted loops in the wings and the location, this repair is quite good and disguises the damage quite well, you can see the close up in the pictures and the size of this repair is about 1 inch. So again relatively small.  That is it that we noted. There may be some crazing in the glaze due to age which is typical with most vintage ceramic, but we didn't note any other flaws or imperfections. Now for the good stuff and it really is all good.  Offered for your consideration are two beautiful, highly collectible vintage Atlantic Mold ceramic angel figurines. The mold for each angel is identical, but the artist who painted them back in the day - like the 1970's day - painted them differently. One is a brunette with dark brown hair swept up in a flip style that screams 1960's and with blue eyes which vexed my daughter as she thought the eye colors on these two should have been flipped, but artists get to do what they want and she/he wanted the girl with the brown hair to get the blue eyes. The blonde shares the same flip hairstyle only in a yellowy blond that is cartoonish and fun with brown eyes. Beyond that, these two are identical both in white angel robes - of course with white angel wings with all the feathers outlined in black or gray to give them depth. There faces are so kitschy and cute with pouty mouths and puffy cheeks as if they are blowing a kiss or maybe singing along to the gold harps they both appear to be playing. The gold is metallic in color. There shoes what little you see of them are painted black like little Mary Janes. They are stamped "Atlantic Mold" on the bottom and have felt pads to help protect furniture from the bisque bottoms.  These are perfect for Christmas decorations or for angel collections I used to have a great many angels back in the day. I adore them. But, since I'm downsizing, I cannot keep them. :(  So, they get to find new homes.  We named them - because it is what I do all things with faces from stuffed animals to figurines like these two must have names. And in my mind these two are sisters, therefore they are going to be Beverly and Heidi. I happen to know these angels personally, they are both a hoot and full of personality and silliness.  Please review all photos closely as they are an important part of the description and reveal all noted imperfections above as well.  Happy Shopping!  Condition: Used.
