A vintage cabinet card photograph of a young boy, seated on a rustic wooden fence rail against a painted farm/pastoral studio backdrop with a haystack. He’s dressed in what appears to be a period sailor-style or Buster Brown suit with a large bow tie, knee socks, and buttoned boots — a well-documented boys’ fashion style of the mid-1910s. The photograph was taken by the New York Gallery studio, located at 411 North Sixth Street, Reading, Pennsylvania (despite the studio’s name, this is a Pennsylvania-made cabinet card, not a New York City photograph). The original studio sleeve/envelope is included, printed with “Art Photography” and “Ground Floor” signage, and bears a period pencil ID inscription on the front mount.
