Standing as a premier example of the late Art Nouveau period, this rare model features six curved, amber-and-blue variegated slag glass panels housed beneath an incredibly intricate, heavy metal overlay depicting an elegant garden arbor scene populated with whimsical cherub and putti figures. Structurally distinct, the piece boasts a highly desirable lighted base that houses an independent internal socket within its matching paneled glass column, allowing the entire lighthouse-style stem to glow with a warm, ambient light alongside the main upper shade. The bottom is marked NW Art Shade Co, but I don’t have a photograph of it as it’s heavy and hard to get a picture of. Offered as a local pickup item to prevent shipping hazards and preserve its historic integrity. Measures 27.5” tall and 19.5” wide. Weighs approximately 50lbs. The lamp is in good condition, no cracked or broken panels. But some panels do have chipping around the inside edges that is covered by the metal framing and is normal for panel mounted slag glass lamps. There’s also some damage to the metalwork around the base. One pair of cats scrollwork is missing and two of the maidens have a broken bushel.
