It is marked "ESTABLISHED 1840 HENRY DISSTON & SONS CENTENNIAL 76 PHILADELPHIA" and "PAT'D JUNE" and "23rd 1874" in the etched logo on the blade. The end of the blade under the handle is stamped "12". The medallion is marked "H DISSTON & SONS PHILADA". I don't see any owner markings. The Centennial 76 was introduced in 1876, and was in production only until the early 1920's. This saw is at least 100 years old! It features an apple wood handle. Blade length measured along the teeth, to where it starts to turn up to the handle, is about a 32nd shy of 26". Blade height, measured perpendicular to the teeth, is about 2-5/8" near the outer end, and about 6-5/8" next to the handle. It is a cross-cut saw, with 11 teeth per inch or 12 ppi. It is a skew back as can be seen. This is consigned to me by a good friend, and although I don't have any documentation, this was sharpened many years ago by Pete Taran of Independence Tool. It has sat unused in my friend's collection since then other than a brief test. It certainly feels quite sharp. The blade has seen quite a bit of cleaning. The left or logo side has some light pitting just under the logo, and some scattered little spots elsewhere. The right side has quite a bit more mostly light pitting scattered up and down the blade. None of the teeth are missing. The blade is reasonably straight with no kinks. The handle is very good, with some small scratches in the wood, and some minor chips in the horns. There is the beginning of a crack extending forward from the V shaped opening going towards the medallion. SHIPPING: 5 pounds when boxed, shipped US Postal Service Ground Advantage, insurance and tracking are included. No International shipping. l sell what I enjoy, and I collect antique woodworking tools and I enjoy photography! The queue is overflowing with tools right now, as they seem to be finding me faster than I can list them. So please keep watching as I have LOTS more to list! ETHICS IN DESCRIPTIONS: I also buy for my collecting on eBay, and I have been burned too many times by misleading (duh did I forget to mention .......) descriptions, and auctions with pictures only of the left side because the right side was trashed. Life is much simpler for me if I disclose what I know or see about an item before you bid, and especially before you receive it in the mail. I come from the handshake school of doing business, and hopefully you are like me and understand what that means. What goes around, comes around. RETURN POLICY: I believe that if you give honest descriptions, and include enough pictures, you shouldn't need a return policy. However, that doesn't mean that I won't make an occasional mistake. Please bid with the assurance that if I have made an error in my listing, I WILL take care of you. SHIPPING: I use the US Post Office for everything. If the value is $250 or over, I will always require a delivery confirmation signature, which eBay requires for the buyer and seller protections to be in effect. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: I no longer ship Internationally other than Canada. If you are in Canada, ask for what the shipping would cost, but be prepared for it to be $$$$$. NEWSLETTER: Every Friday eBay sends out an email with my newsletter featuring 10 of my most interesting new listings. To subscribe, click on the heart symbol that is labeled SAVE SELLER, and that will automatically get you on the mailing list for the newsletters. They are free, and you can unsubscribe at any time. SELLING OUTSIDE OF EBAY: Why would I risk my lengthy good standing with eBay to save you a couple of dollars? Especially when you ask on an email that is sent through the eBay email system which they are reading? Please don't ask, the answer is no. AUCTIONS: I won’t end an auction listing early to sell it to you directly. As a bidder, I really dislike going back at the end of an auction to bid, only to discover that the seller had ended the auction early. So I won’t do that for you, or to you. PACKAGING: Please check my feedback -- I package well. I understand how disappointing it is to receive a purchase where the seller clearly didn't care about how it was packaged. I work to package everything with lots of protection for it, and I always use a new box or new envelope. OFFERS: I will always consider an offer, some longer than others. Your best chance of success happens if the item has been listed for a while, your offer is reasonable (to me!), and you are a regular customer. I am a long-time active member of the PNTC or Pacific Northwest Tool Collectors, and a long distance member of the MWTCA or Mid-West Tool Collectors Association. And once in a while I might turn up at a PAST meeting! I hope someday I will meet some of you as we trudge the happy road of tool collecting! Condition: Used.
