View 26" Disston & Son (not Sons) No 7 handsaw 5ppi rip circa 1865-1871 split nuts with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. It is marked "HENRY DISSTON & SON KEYSTONE SAW WORKS PHILADELPHIA CAST STEEL 7 WARRANTED PATENT GROUND" in the etched logo on the blade. The end of the blade under the handle is not marked with the ppi number. You are bidding on one Disston & Sons Number 7 handsaw as pictured. Please look at all 20 pictures that I have included. It is marked "HENRY DISSTON & SON KEYSTONE SAW WORKS PHILADELPHIA CAST STEEL 7 WARRANTED PATENT GROUND" in the etched logo on the blade. The end of the blade under the handle is not marked with the ppi number.   The medallion is marked "DISSTON & SON PHILADA". Note that both the blade and the medallion are marked "& SON" and are not marked "& SONS".   I don't see any owner markings.  Blade length measured along the teeth, to the straight edge coming down from the handle, is about 25-15/16". Blade  height, measured perpendicular to the teeth, is about 1-15/16" near the outer end, and about 6-3/16" next to the handle.  It is a rip saw, with 4 teeth per inch or 5 ppi. It has the nib on the top side. It certainly feels quite sharp. The blade is fairly dark with some staining and some hammer dings, and some scattered bits of rust and light pitting, with more of that out near the end. The blade is surprisingly sharp. None of the teeth are missing. The blade is reasonably straight with no kinks.   The handle shows lots of wear, with some small chips on the end of the upper horn, and a variety of little scratches and dings and chips in the wood. The medallion and the split nuts and bolts have some modest tarnish, and the slots in the nuts show wear. The handle is tight to the blade.     SHIPPING: 4 pounds when boxed, shipped US Postal Service Ground Advantage, insurance and tracking are included.
