Antique double-sheave wooden block-and-tackle pulley with a large forged-iron hook and smaller upper guide pulley. The pulley has been left in its naturally aged condition and has not been heavily cleaned or refinished. This substantial old pulley has a wonderful dark, naturally aged patina and makes an excellent primitive, industrial, nautical, barn or farmhouse display piece. All three pulleys move freely. The wooden housing and sheaves show considerable age-related wear, including drying cracks, checking, scratches, small chips, discoloration and old paint specks. The iron hardware displays surface oxidation, finish wear and patina consistent with many years of use. No maker’s mark was found. The pulley has been left in its naturally aged condition and has not been heavily cleaned or refinished.
