A handsome Japanese Satsuma-style moriage vase, 7.5 inches tall, decorated on both sides with the Seven Immortals (Rakan/Arhat) in the classic rich brown ground with heavy gold gilding and dense raised enamel moriage work. Figural handles flank the body; additional smaller roundels accent the sides. The decoration is well-executed with strong color contrast and good gold retention. The base carries a handpainted maker's mark above "Made in Japan," consistent with 1930s–1950s production, likely pre- or early post-war. This is the active Satsuma export tradition that supplied Western collectors throughout that era, not tourist-grade work. Condition is excellent. No chips, cracks, or crazing.
