View Satsuma Moriage Vase Seven Immortals 7.5" Made in Japan Raised Enamel Gold Rakan with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. This is the active Satsuma export tradition that supplied Western collectors throughout that era, not tourist-grade work. A handsome Japanese Satsuma-style moriage vase, 7.5 inches tall, decorated on both sides with the Seven Immortals (Rakan/Arhat) in the classic rich brown ground with heavy gold gilding and dense raised enamel moriage work. Figural handles flank the body; additional smaller roundels accent the sides. The decoration is well-executed with strong color contrast and good gold retention. The base carries a handpainted maker's mark above "Made in Japan," consistent with 1930s–1950s production, likely pre- or early post-war. This is the active Satsuma export tradition that supplied Western collectors throughout that era, not tourist-grade work. Condition is excellent. No chips, cracks, or crazing. Gold shows no significant wear. Comparable examples in this subject and condition have sold on eBay in the $175–$400 range.
