View uncommon Stanley Victor 9" try & miter square circa 1937 w/ lots of brass trim with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. He refers to an obscure Victor catalog where it was depicted, circa 1937, and depicted only in a 7-1/2" size. The handle has a variety of small scratches and dings in the wood, and the wood is worn on both lower outside corners. You are bidding on one interesting Stanley Victor try and miter square as pictured. It is not marked, which is typical for these.  Please see the square on the top of page 601 in John Walter's book Antique & Collectible Stanley Tools. He refers to an obscure Victor catalog where it was depicted, circa 1937, and depicted only in a 7-1/2" size. The blade length on this square is 9", measured from the far end of the blade to the far side of the handle. It is graduated in 8ths, and the inches from 1 to 8 are numbered on both sides of the blade.  The blade is blued steel, although with lots of scratches in the bluing from an aggressive cleaning at some time in the past. The trim around the handle is brass, including the two triangular areas. Condition is fair to good, with lots of scratches on the blade as noted, and some paint on the handle to clean off. The handle has a variety of small scratches and dings in the wood, and the wood is worn on both lower outside corners. The blade is bowed if you sight down the upper edge.  Not a square that you see very often!
