Color Shifting Watermelon Rivoli Up for sale is a sensational pair of vintage mid-century statement clip-on earrings from my granny's estate.  Item Background & Description These are phenomenal presumed DeLizza & Elster (D&E) / Juliana clip-on earrings featuring a highly coveted stone known as "Watermelon Rivoli" (sometimes called watermelon tourmaline art glass). They come from my granny's estate. The earrings feature an inverted, pointed cone shape with facets that radiate out from the center, shifting vibrantly from deep fuchsia pink to lime green and golden amber depending on how the light hits them. Brand & Maker Attribution Unsigned, which would be correct for this manufacturer. The multi-stone cluster layout, open-backed setting style for the main olivine green side stones, and the iconic paddle-back clip design are strongly presumed to be DeLizza & Elster (D&E) / Juliana. I have researched these to the best of my ability, but I am not an expert or collector. I am describing these features and guessing at the maker to the best of my ability based on known vintage collector guides. Please rely on your own knowledge, or confirm all details here with your own research if you are a collector. Condition  Cleaning.  Tops of chatons and rivolis were very gently cleaned with photographic lens tissue. Navettes gently cleaned front and back. Rivoli stones:   The large central fuchsia-green watermelon stones retain incredible fire and color-shifting properties (see video). Please note that one earring features two tiny, pinhead-sized surface chips (one at the very center point and one along a facet edge, like fleabites), as clearly documented in the close-up macro photos. Olivine navettes. Each earring has one olivine navette with an open back. I note on close inspection one stone is very slightly paler than the other, but the difference is subtle, and minor variations like this are not unusual for this brand. Overall clear and sparkly. Pink accent chatons. At the bottom of the earring (when worn), there is a pair of pink AB chatons. The color complements the central stone beautifully.  AB coating is vibrant and reflective with minor, age-appropriate vintage wear. Note that one clip arm is slightly bent, causing it to close slightly off-center against the back pad (visible in the structural photos). It still functions properly and holds securely when worn. No rubber backings. Vintage Condition: This is a pre-loved vintage item; expect minor age-appropriate patina and verdigris on the metal work, and wear consistent with its age and history.  Item Components & Included Accessories Width: Almost 1" across.
