The desk includes a removable hutch top with two cabinet doors that open to reveal an interior shelf and lighter wood lining. Below the hutch, four smaller drawers are present, two on each side. The main desk surface displays beautiful, swirling wood grain with some surface wear consistent with age. Two pull-out writing surfaces, each covered in distressed green felt, are located on either side of the central kneehole. The kneehole area is flanked by two pedestals, each containing a cabinet with an interior shelf. Three central drawers are located above the kneehole, with the middle drawer featuring a keyhole and a decorative brass ring pull from which a brass key hangs. Additional decorative brass ring pulls are on the two larger upper side drawers and the lower cabinet doors. Drawers are constructed with visible dovetail joinery.
