They are were actually heavy when I picked up the package and thought it was a sweater or jacket. The material is stretchy and flattering. I would definitely recommend going at least a size down from your regular pants size. Don't forget, there are no belt loops. There is enough stretch in the fabric that, had I have gone down a size or two, I would have loved them even more. J.
