It is made of rattan woven around around slender wood branches with oval pieces of wood in the center of the lid and the bottom - the lid has a 3D hand carved turtle on top of the wood oval. There are no labels or signatures, but it's clearly one of a number of similar baskets made on the island of Lombok in Indonesia. This lovely lidded basket is  oval shaped and measures 9  across, 3 inches high and 6 3/4 inches wide.  It is made of rattan woven around around slender wood branches with oval pieces of wood in the center of the lid and the bottom - the lid has a 3D hand carved turtle on top of the wood oval. There are no labels or signatures, but it's clearly one of a number of similar baskets made on the island of Lombok in Indonesia. At 9 inches across, this is one of the larger examples I've seen.  There is a 1 inch and a 3/4 inch area on the edge of lid where the turtle head is facing, where the rattan covering the branch missing and the branch is bare. There are also several places where the rattan  broken. The  color of the stain on the turtle and the top piece is also a bit uneven. The basket is still beautiful and functional. Condition: Used.
