The pavilion (bottom of the gem) sticks into the inside of the ring. Vintage Estate Sterling Silver 925 Large 20mmx 16mm 15 Carat Oval Blue Topaz Ring Size 8.5 Weighs 12.0 grams total Marked 925 and tested sterling Stone has tested high into gem quality and the massive stone is in great shape still because of that. It is beautifully faceted in equal diamond cuts along the domed oval cabochon. The photos show the coloring well, very light blue to clear in certain light. Amazing flash. The pavilion (bottom of the gem) sticks into the inside of the ring. The stone is smooth and you don’t feel it but the gem is touching your skin. All of this feels very designed into this large gem ring as a softer stone would not hold out.
