View VINTAGE 1940s SIAM STERLING SILVER NIELLOWARE TEARDROP GODDESS CLIP ON EARRINGS with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. VINTAGE  1940s  SIAM STERLING  SILVER  NIELLOWARE  TEARDROP GODDESS  CLIP ON EARRINGS Origin: The Kingdom of Siam (Thailand before 1939 and 1946-1949)  The base metal is sterling silver, typically marked as "Siam Sterling" which is engraved on the backside > almost impossible to photograph   Nielloware, a traditional Thai craft involving engraving a design into silver and then filling the recesses with a black (niello) or white enamel alloy which is then fired and polished  The earrings feature figures that often depict the mythical figures Mekhala (goddess of lightning) and Ramasoon (god of thunder) from the Thai epic Ramakien    front and back pictured ...  each earring measures  1" tall x .5" wide  BOTH EXCELLENT CONDITION  Please view the photos below & feel free to email us with any questions concerning the item up for bid....
